Sport: French duo train with Monaco squad but are wanted by both Côte clubs
OGC Nice and AS Monaco are set to battle it out to sign David Trezeguet and Ludovic Giuly. The former French internationals appeared at Monaco’s La Turbie training ground on Monday to train with the current squad. Sports: UEFA chooses France over Turkey to host the 2016 European Football Championship
Christian Estrosi, Mayor of Nice and France's Minister for Industry, is excited: “This is great news for our city - for over two years we have been constructing a big stadium for OGC Nice, in the hope that it will also be used for Euro 2016 matches. We are very happy about UEFA’s decision. It is an honour for France to be the host country and for Nice to be one of the 12 nominated cities.”

Last month, 15 local rugby players came to face-to-face with their biggest rivals. The conditions were treacherous, the pitch waterlogged after days of torrential rain, yet the stadium was full and the atmosphere was electric. Sports: Tension mounts at the top of the French premier league but Nice stay down
After the chaos of two weeks ago when Nice fans erupted from the stands onto the pitch after losing to AS Monaco, the riot police were out in force for Saturday’s Marseille-Monaco derby at the Louis II Stadium. For the first time since 1996, AS Monaco came out victorious at home in the Louis II stadium against arch rivals OGM Nice beating them 3-2. Meanwhile, Marseille went down 2-0 to Montpellier, a loss that leaves Monaco in fifth position, three points ahead of the Phoenicians who drop to seventh having squandered their chance to move up to second.
