Weather alert issued in Alpes-Maritimes

The Prefecture of the Alpes-Maritimes has issued a weather warning for today. Residents should take caution close to the coast. Access to some coastal paths is prohibited due to strong winds and the high waves they cause.

Other paths that remain open will be monitored throughout the day to assess the potential danger. Drivers taking routes near the sea should proceed with caution.

It would appear that the authorities are taking extra precautions this winter as a result of drownings over the Christmas period last year due to waves washing people out to sea.
