Monaco: The intimate life of Prince Albert of Monaco the subject of a new book

New book published in Monaco reveals real Prince

To the outside world, the House of Grimaldi has always exuded glamour and excited fascination. Yet despite their high public profile, there are very few who can say that they know the royal family intimately. Now a new book, published last Thursday, gives a glimpse of the real man behind the Monaco monarchy.

Albert II de Monaco: L'Autre Prince has been written by Prince Albert's longtime advisor, Christiane Stahl (Editions du Rocher), and she hopes that the book will reveal a side of the prince normally hidden from the press: the person, not the image. The author enjoyed close collaboration with the Prince’s Palace on research for the book. Readers wishing to truly know the personality of the Prince will discover the essence of this much-admired leader and man whose public persona presents a very discreet side. His Serene Highness’ diplomatic efforts to lead Monaco on to the international arena and his energetic battle to combat the world’s environmental problems are also addressed.

Also included are details of the daily life within the Palace walls, the presence of Ms Charlene Wittstock in Prince Albert’s life and the son’s thoughts and memories of his mother and father, Prince Grace and Prince Rainier III.
