Monaco: Beware of low flying aircraft tonight

It is armed with an infrared scanner aimed at measuring heat losses from buildings in the Principality, and is part of the government’s drive to improve energy efficiency by 20% compared to 2006.
The plane will be flying at an altitude of between 1,000 and 2,000 feet (300-600 metres) provided the weather men have got their forecast right. To be effective the scanner requires low air temperatures, no rain and very little wind. Once the results of the scan have been analysed the government will be in a position to draw up a strategy to reduce the amount of heat being lost.
