British bomb causes havoc in frontier town

An unexploded bomb, said to be a World War II explosive dropped by the RAF, recently provoked the mass evacuation of the Italian border town of Ventimiglia. The bomb, with the capacity to cause damage across a 500 metre radius, disrupted both rail services and road traffic.

Rockfall Near Casterino

A weekend rockfall near Casterino has left the town inaccessable by road and the villagers temporarily stranded. Three-thousand cubic metres of rockface were dislodged at around 7am on Saturday morning and has blocked off nearly 50 metres of road.
