Welcome to Saint Tropez Cristiano Ronaldo

When the going gets tough, the tough head to Saint Tropez. After being knocked out of the Euro Championships during a nail-biting penalty shoot-out against Spain, Cristiano Ronaldo and his Russian model girlfriend Irina Shayk have been spotted on Tuesday 3rd July soaking up the sun in the most glamorous hot spot of the French Riviera.

The Saint Tropez sun makes it easy to forget Portgal's recent defeat to Spain

The tears of last week which came after Ronaldo failed to take his penalty seem to have been wiped dry by Irina, who the footballer has been dating since 2010. They were spotted frolicking on his luxurious yacht before taking a stroll along the beach together with friends and family.

The lingerie model, looking fabulous in a tangerine bikini, even seemed to be playing the role of step mother to his son, Ronaldo Junior, now two years of age. They were later spotted splashing the cash at place de la Garonne before heading to Club 55, one of Saint Tropez's most famous celebrity hangouts.

Ronaldo tweeted "I'm enjoying my vacations and just been informed that I've been nominated for the ESPYS awards. It's not my first time." He will return to the Real Madrid training camp during the next few days.
