Provence & Côte d'Azur: Following the bursting of a tire, the bus flipped onto the other side of the motorway
An infant was killed and 42 were left injured after a tour bus carrying Romanian passengers crashed on the A8 in the Var on Sunday morning. Provence & Côte d'Azur: 851 people were imprisoned last year in France for employment fraud
Although the number of citizens working illegally has risen in the Provence Alpes and Côte d'Azur region, local authorities are making progress, generating nearly 25 million euros worth of fines in 2011. Provence & Côte d'Azur: The waters may be muddy but not harmful!
Beach goers are being discouraged from swimming in the waters of Cousteau and Landsberg beaches at Saint Laurent du Var after rain waters flowing from the Var river created strong currents. Provence & Côte d'Azur: 800sqm of land was burnt near Cannes yesterday and trains were disrupted after a small outbreak fire at Cannes la Bocca
A 14-year-old boy has been placed in custody, suspected of starting the fire that ravaged the commune of Orgon in Bouches du Rhône this weekend. Provence Alpes & Côte d'Azur: The gang is still making its speedy getaway on scooters up and down the coast
The daring robbers who have been plaguing the Riviera since late June have struck again, this time in Nice, adding a watch worth 22,000 euros to their collection. Provence & Côte d'Azur: Government opens doors to treatment plant to prove it is not responsible for pollution at Saint Laurent beaches
Authorities have welcomed the press to the water treatment plant in Saint Laurent, asserting their stance that it was not the leaks of untreated water into the Var river that are to blame for the presence of E.Coli on Cousteau and Landsberg beaches. Provence & Côte d'Azur: Over 60,000 people formed a human chain yesterday in a stand against nuclear energy
In a remarkable show of solidarity, 65,000 people joined hands yesterday as part of a campaign against nuclear energy in France. The human chain weaved it’s way through the French countryside, stretching some 235 kilometres and reaching from Lyon all the way to Avignon.
