Provence & Côte d’Azur: More heavy rain forecast for the Var this evening and throughout the night

Var downpour continues

The region’s wet weather is set to continue well into the early hours of Wednesday morning, as more heavy rain is expected to fall over the Var.

Up to 120 millimetres per hour of rain is expected to fall in the next 12 hours over the Var region. Furthermore, strong winds are forecast, expected to reach 120 kilometres per hour by the coast.

Meanwhile, the Prefect of the Var has quelled rumours that the Carcès lake will burst its banks as a result of the floods. They warn drivers, however, to take extra care and respect road diversions.
