Provence & Côte d’Azur: Clean-up for region’s rivers and lakes

Time for a spring clean

This weekend, hundreds of volunteers will head to a number of lakes and rivers in the Var to take part in the annual environmental spring clean. It’s not what most would consider a traditional clear out, but nevertheless its all for a good cause in the fight to preserve and protect the region’s aquatic environment.

Annual environmental spring clean at a number of lakes and rivers this Saturday in the Var

The Var Fishing Federation and 12 regional fishing associations have organised this year’s annual spring clean.

Teams will be stationed at the following spots across the region at 8.30am:

Saint Zacharie – L’Huveaune (meet at Coulomb bridge)
Brignoles – Le Caramy (meet at Pré de Pâques)
Garéoult – L’Issole (meet at Les Guines)
Le Revest – Revest lake (meet on chemin de la Foux)
Hyères – Le Gapeau (meet at Sauvebonne)
Pierrefeu – Le Réal Martin (meet at the stadium)
Cabasse – Sainte Suzanne lake (meet at Château de Brauch)
Fréjus – Le Reyran canalise (meet at Camp Marin)
Montauroux – Saint Cassien lake (meet at Pré Claou bridge)
Roquebrune – Sablière de l’Aréna (meet at the car park)
Les Salles sur Verdon  - Sainte Croix lake (meet at car park)
