Expect another stellar line-up of films and stars at the Cannes Film Festival: 16th-27th

The Cannes Film Festival looks set to be as spectacular as ever this year, with a top selection of films in competition and the appropriate A-list stars for that red carpet to make it into the global press.
Speaking at the highly anticipated Paris press conference on 19th April, President Gilles Jacob summed up the festival perfectly, saying: "In a world that sacrifices everything to what's superficial, to the new-best-thing, to the lowest common denominator, to the non-debate of ideas through apathy, what counts, what makes us strong, is our passion for cinema and for those who make it: the great auteur filmmakers."
For 65 years, the Cannes Film Festival has managed to stay true to its purpose, and its reputation remains as strong as ever.
"The greatness of Cannes is its ability to bring together and share that very special moment when a film is discovered: a film which, in the blink of an eye, invents, awakens, overwhelms, deifies,” adds Jacob.
