Provence & Côte d'Azur: Mother injects children with lethal dosage before turning the needle on herself

Police continue to search for clues into Valbonne murder-suicide

Police are searching for answers after a Valbonne woman killed her two children before committing suicide.

The bodies of Patricia Tiger, 40, and her two children Margot, 13 and Théo, 10 were discovered by the children’s father on Wednesday evening.

Patricia Tiger’s partner found the body of his wife in the bedroom after returning to the family home on route de Nice shortly after 5pm. The two children were found unconscious, but paramedics were unable to revive them.

Two packages containing traces of dangerous pharmaceutical products were found in a bin by police at the property yesterday. The corpses bore traces of needle marks, and a medical syringe was also found at the scene.

Investigators believe that Tiger, who worked as a health professional, knowingly injected her two children with a substance that would cause heart failure, before administering a lethal dosage into her own body.

Police are uncertain why a mother of a seemingly happy family, would commit such an atrocity, but have yet to rule out the imminent break-up of the marriage or a psychological illness on the part of Patricia Tiger being the cause.

A full post mortem examination of the bodies of the victims is expected by next Thursday.
