Provence & Côte d'Azur: The first of nearly 300 highly anticipated new builds is available for purchase

New development up for sale

Newly built apartments in the centre of Saint- Tropez will be up for grabs from the beginning of October.

The highly anticipated development will enable more workers to live within the boundaries of the village, with a particular emphasis on young families. The accommodation, still in the development stage, will be spread out over three different sites - 'La zone du Couvent', 'la dalle des Lices' and the old hospital, which is currently being demolished. They will provide 274 apartments, a third of which will be available for purchase. The remaining two thirds will be designated rental apartments, and 179 of those will fall under the control of the local council, in keeping with the overall aim to house local workers.

Prospective tenants will be assessed according to income, and there will be a cap of between five and 11 euros per square metre, an incentive designed to benefit young workers in the community. Interested parties can view the development at the 'la dalle des Lices' show room.  The apartments built on 'la zone du Couvent' will have access to an underground car park with more than 300 spaces. On the old hospital site, around 150 apartments are to be built and construction is set to begin in autumn 2012. Work on the other two sites is scheduled to start in March 2012, earlier than expected.

The total cost of the development is 5.7 million euros.
