Provence & Côte d’Azur: Body found in the Var river named as the missing worker, Michel Fuentes
Mystery corpse identified
A man’s body found floating in the Var river near Lingostière in the west of Nice has been formally identified as 52-year-old worker Michel Fuentes who disappeared during the tragic floods which swept across the region last November.
Fuentes went missing on 9th November while at work in Castagniers in the Var. His body was discovered by walkers in the Var river near Lingostière on 2nd April 2012, five months after he disappeared.
Experts were able to identify the victim by his dental records during the autopsy.
His body was returned to his family, for his funeral held in Drap last Tuesday.
