Provence & Côte d'Azur: Air strikes continue

More last minute flight cancellations

Two days of further disruption are still to come as over 60 per cent of Air France's pilots continue to strike in response to a law that will limit their ability to strike in the future.

Heavy disruptions are expected again today as air strikes continue throughout France

Despite Air France's hopes earlier in the week that only 20 per cent of flights would be affected, Nice Côte d'Azur airport was forced to cancel 30 per cent of its flights yesterday.

Air France reviewed its statement this morning, saying that it expected 60 per cent of long haul and 70 per cent of shorter, domestic flights would be in service today.

Links between the Riviera and Paris have been the most affected. Nice Côte d'Azur airport confirmed this morning that flights at 7.55am, 10.05am, 11.35am, 12.35am, 2.05pm, 6.35pm and 9.05pm in the direction of Orly would be cancelled; and flights at 7.55am and 8.45pm in the direction of Roissy Charles-de-Gaulle would be cancelled.

An estimated 120, 000 travellers have experienced cancellations or serious delays caused by the strikes since they began on Monday.
