Evening air traffic at Terminal 1 was disrupted for more than two hours, with several leading airlines severely affected by the system's failure.

Air France, Iberia and Brussels Airlines were forced to cancel all arrivals and departures scheduled for the evening.

According to the Nice Matin, "50 flights were cancelled leaving 1,000 passengers stranded" over the course of the evening.

Passengers were offered accommodation for the inconvenience. "We are very sorry for this incident," said Hervé de Place, President of the Nice Côte d'Azur airport.

To make matters worse, the incident occurred while the south runway was closed for repairs.
