Italy rail strike affects the Riviera

Industrial action by Italian rail workers will affect train services along the Riviera to the Italian border from tonight for 24 hours.

There will be no trains running between Menton and Ventimille from Thursday to Friday

The strike, which starts at 9pm and will finish at 9pm tomorrow, will disrupt schedules between Menton and Ventimiglia. 

The protest will affect all the public transport networks in Italy as workers are striking against the latest government austerity measures led by Italian Prime Minister, Mario Monti.
