House party organisers face criminal charges

Two friends are facing potentially serious consequences after allegedly organising a wild and chaotic house party in the quiet residential area of Roque sur Argens at the weekend. They are both set to appear in court at the end of next month.

Alan and Alexandre, the two suspected organisers of the house party which raged out of control last Saturday, attracting 800 rowdy guests in an unoccupied residence have been "charged with complicity in the destruction of a property during a social gathering" as well as "undeclared work". They will appear before the criminal court on the 25th June at Draguignan.

These two friends, both aged 22, one unemployed and the other a gardener have been placed under court supervision. If they are found guilty, then the two could receive a prison sentence of up to five years as well as an estimated fine of 30 000 euros each, to compensate for the damage caused.The two suspects are also not permitted to use any social networking sites.

This social gathering last Saturday, which quickly developed into both a drunken and destructive rampage was first promoted on the popular social networking media, Facebook. An unoccupied house, situated in a quiet residence was left completely destroyed and is the second home of a couple from Holland. The damaged caused hasn't yet been fully evaluated.
