Provence & Côte d'Azur: Another local tragedy to add to the list of motorcycle accidents
Dangers in winter riding
The 43-year-old motorcyclist didn’t realise that his scarf was caught in the wheel of his bike when he turned the ignition on and rode off. He was pulled off the bike and strangled, despite a witness' desperate attempts to help by cutting the fabric.
When assistance arrived he was unconscious and in cardiac arrest. He was revived once before the emergency helicopter landed, but suffered a second attack, which proved fatal.
The victim was well known for his public service in the local community, spending the last two summers on road patrol.
