Provence & Côte d’Azur: Flights from the Riviera hub will end on June 11th 2012

Bmibaby cuts flights from Nice to East Midlands

Amid the low-cost airline battle, leading British airline Bmibaby has announced that it will cease to operate all flights from Nice Côte d’Azur to East Midlands next month.

It's the end of the line for the Nice Côte d'Azur and East Midlands service with Bmibaby

The company’s managing director, Peter Simpson, told British news source BBC that the company had "lost over 123 million euros in the last four years and would have to be ‘realistic’ about its options.” Therefore, in a bid to combat these losses as quickly as possible, the company is making reductions to Bmibaby’s flying programme starting from next month.

From 11th June, Bmibaby will no longer fly from East Midlands in Birmingham to Nice Côte d'Azur, Amsterdam, Paris, Geneva, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Newquay.

The company apologised to all customers affected by the closure and said it would be providing full refunds.
