Provence & Côte d’Azur: Prepare for possible flight disruption in Nice
Air France strike impacts Nice Côte d’Azur airpot
It was announced yesterday that up to 20 per cent of Air France flights across the country will experience delays between 29th October and 2nd November, including Nice Côte d'Azur. This puts added pressure on the airport, with crowds expected to descend on the Riviera between 3rd and 4th November for this year’s G20 summit in Cannes.
A spokesperson for Air France told the Nice Matin, “Flights travelling to and from Paris are to be the most affected by the strikes. However, given it is G20 time in Cannes, delays are also to be expected in the Côte d’Azur.”
The company advises passengers to consult the Air France website for details on the latest flight information before heading to the airport. A text messaging service is also available, where passengers can send a text with their flight number to 63654 and receive a flight update message in return.
After 15 days of negotiations, six out of the seven unions have voted that the strike should go ahead. Air France cabin crew fear job cuts will have an impact on the quality of service and safety for both passengers and crewmembers.
