Grasse police end inquiry into fictional kidnapping

Police in Grasse have backtracked on an investigation into the disappearance of a teenage girl, after it emerged that their witness fabricated the entire story. The 22-year-old man, who was the only witness to come forward, had claimed that he saw the abduction of a girl aged 14 or 15 on Saturday night.
