Monaco: Two months away from the Big Day

Wedding Countdown

With April's British Royal wedding leaving every royalist teary eyed, the focus now turns to Monaco and to Albert and Charlene with the question on everyone's lips: Are they able to compete with Wills and Kate?

The Principality's number one couple announced last month that instead of guests and well wishers buying them gifts to celebrate their big day they'd rather cash went to charity. This will help avoid awkward moments when the man who already owns his own palace unwraps his presents. Anticipating a few donations, the Prince has set up a special account with the Monegaque treasury.

In what has become a precedent for any royal wedding, memorabilia will be on sale from the start of this month. You can buy a special picture of the couple or hang on to your money instead: the city-state has immortalised its prince with a two-euro coin.

Charlene’s dress remains a mystery, of course, although we know Giorgio Armani has been chosen as the designer. Albert will be in the bright summer uniform of the Carabiniers.

Just as Kate was confirmed into the Church of England, Charlene was offically confirmed into the Roman Catholic faith in a private ceremony last month.

And in a similar move to their British counterparts, they have launched their own wedding website to keep fans updated:

@M - Thank you! I have some clients who regularly make the same mistake, I will be speaking to them as well.

Can't wait to watch the Monaco wedding. Hoping it's equally as fabulous as the British wedding
