Monaco: The Prince and his princess-to-be are to honour the Mediterranean diet

Star Chef Alain Ducasse to wow guests at wedding dinner

With many details of the royal wedding weekend in July already announced, there was one secret still remaining that has now, finally, been revealed - although many would say that they knew all along...

Alain Ducasse and his Louis XV restaurant at Hôtel de Paris has three michelin stars making them one of the top restaurants in all of France. The establishment hosted last Monday the 20th anniversary of the Guide Gantié

Prince Albert II and Charlene Wittstock announced yesterday that Monsieur Alain Ducasse will be the cooking maestro in charge of the catering at their official after wedding dinner party.

Staff from the S.B.M luxury hotel, Hotel de Paris, will assist him in setting up the royal banquet.

As a Monegasque and three-times michelin starred chef, Ducasse has long been the odds-on favourite for this incredible honour.

The couple have requested that locally grown produce, some derived from farms near the Prince's royal residence in the hills, Roc Agel, make up the key ingredients in the final menu.

These dishes have been inspired by the Mediterranean diet.

More than 450 people will be attending the event, which takes place on the 2nd of July at the Opera Garnier Terrasse.

Using home grown ingredients would be a great way to spread awareness of being eco-friendly and cutting down on carbon footprints. I can tell that with such a chef, the party will be a grand one.
