Monaco: Palace takes out an injunction against Express.fr after the website claims Charlene Wittstock has attempted to flee from her wedding

Runaway Royal Bride? Definitely not says palace

Whilst the world is anticipating catching a glimpse of Charlene Wittstock in her gorgeous Armani wedding gown on Saturday, it seems that certain members of the media are trying to pour cold water over its fairytale facade.

French news has reported today that the future princess only recently tried to escape from having to walk up the aisle.

According to Express.fr, Miss Wittstock, responding to a revelation regarding her future husband's behaviour, bolted for the airport and attempted to return to her native South Africa.

It was alleged that the young woman had already boarded a plane back to her home country when she was stopped in Nice Côte d'Azur airport by French police officers working under the orders of the Palais Royal Monégasque.

Although the story has been strongly denied by the palace, the rumour has spread far and wide, with many tabloids around the world now attempting to invent their own reasons for the future princess' alleged escape.

Only days ahead of their wedding, it is said that the couple have been upset by the incident.

"These rumors are only intended to seriously damage the image of the Sovereign, and consequently that of Miss Wittstock, and bring serious damage to this happy event," the Palace said in their official denial.

They stated that there was no rupture between the bride and groom-to-be, whilst Thierry Lacoste, Prince Albert's lawyer, has told press that he was with the couple in Paris three days ago and can vouch that “all is well” between them.

He added that "everything is false," before comparing the rumour with the false allegations made in the 80s by the media that French actress Isabelle Adjani had AIDS and had died.

The couple are now suing Express.fr and have taken out an injunction against the French newspaper.

I've heard that they've taken her passport off her all because she decided to leave him with a third illegitimate child on the way. Hardly very regal but what do I know?
