Monaco: Principality announces the engagement of second in line to the thrown

Princess Caroline confirms engagement of Andrea

Monaco's Princess Caroline has confirmed the happy news that the Grimaldi family will be welcoming a new addition as her oldest son Andrea Casiraghi proposes to his seven year sweetheart Tatiana Santo Domingo. The exciting announcement comes just days after the prestigious Principality celebrated the one year anniversary of its leader Prince Albert II and his South African Princess Charlene.

"It is with joy that I announce the engagement of my eldest son Andrea Casiraghi and Miss Tatiana Santo Domingo," said the Princess of Hanover via a press release this morning.

The famous young couple have been dating for almost a decade and currently reside in the French capital, Paris, where they both met.

Son to Prince Albert II's sister and Italian sportsman turned entrepreneur Stefano Casiraghi, Andrea has inherited a host of charm and looks and is second in line to the Monegasque throne after his glamourous mother.

Throughout his teenage and adult life, the modern day Prince Charming has made it on many of the world's "Hottest Royals" lists, not to mention People magazine's "50 Most Beautiful" in 2002.

Tatiana too is the daughter of a successful businessman, Julio Mario Santo Domingo, who Forbes magazine have cited as Colombia's "second richest man". Her mother is former Brazilian socialite Vera Rechulski, but the American-born beauty is a celebrity in her own right, heading up new fashion house The Muzungu Sisters.

While no official date has been set for the wedding, reports suggest the nuptials will be held next year.
