Monaco: A charity gala dinner took place in Monaco on wednesday evening

Prince Albert II hosts first-ever "Nights in Monaco"

The Principality of Monaco held yet another world-class event on Wednesday evening with the inaugural Nights in Monaco benefit dinner. In a James Bond-esque setting, a string of A-listers and socialites came together at Monte Carlo's Hôtel de Paris, to enjoy an incredible evening of fine dining and entertainment.

The charity gala dinner took the glamourous theme of The Golden Age of Hollywood and was hosted by Prince Albert with his sister Princess Caroline. The former US President, Bill Clinton also made an appearance in addition to a whole host of celebrities, who had driven in from the Cannes Film Festival.

Guests were able enjoy an evening of fine cuisine, mustered up by Michelin star chef, Alain Ducasse, who served farm-raised veal, fish, corgettte caviar and truffled vinaigrette.

Later in the evening, a prestigious auction was held where actor Joshua Jackson splashed out a whopping 36 000 euros on a white diamond necklace by designer Carla Amorim. He bought the sparkling necklace as a present for his longtime lover, Diane Kruger, who also attended the event. The auction also featured a section of the red carpet custom made by Fashion for Floors for the wedding of Prince Albert and Princess Charlene, also signed by the royal couple. The occasion ended with an after party at Jimmy'z d'Hiver.

The event raised an more than 600 000 euros for the Prince Albert II foundation as well as for the William J Clinton Foundation. The evening gave both foundations, which are focused on environmental protection the opportunity to establish relations.
