People & Lifestyle: Transfer in style on the new limousine boat Beauvallon III

No ordinary taxi

Hotel Beauvallon in Saint-Maxime is offering now a new type of taxi service: a limousine boat. The luxury hotel is under construction until 2011, but the Japanese property owners have made sure that people are already starting to talk about them by introducing the Beauvallon III, a luxury yacht with an extremely sexy look and attitude. A ride sitting on its polished mirrored chrome decks also promises a fresh sea breeze instead of exhaust fumes and busy roads.

The 'Riviera Limousine Boat'
The transfer on the “Riviera Limousine Boat” from Hotel Beauvallon to Saint-Tropez or Sainte-Maxime takes 10 minutes, Nice airport can be reached in 1.5 hours, which is impossible on the roads during summertime.

Something between a taxi and a pleasure boat, though considerably fancier and more flexible, the new yacht is not only at the disposal of future hotel guests but is also available for charter on request.

Whether you need the sea taxi to get to the airport on time or you’re planning a day trip to far-flung spots between Saint-Tropez and Monaco - "all is possible by agreement", says Captin Régis Cortini. The idea for the unique, futuristic design of the boat comes from him. He is also the one who welcomes guests onboard and navigates them to their destination, never hesitating to put his foot on the gas pedal.

With its interior design, the12-meters long german-made Fjord 40 makes a bold statement on the water and offers a comfortable ride with excellent service. They even offer a picnic prepared by the chef of the hotel, should you want to laze in the sun with a hamper of delicious fare.

Even though it feels exclusive, a transfer on the Beauvallon III is affordable: From Saint-Tropez to Monaco, for example, a full boat with 10 people costs 79 euros per person, to Cannes 49 euros. A full day chartering costs 2,000 euros, half-day 1,200 euros. The evening special ‘Sunset Cruise’ (1,450 euros) includes cocktails and canapés.
