Italian Riviera: Genoa aquarium set to nurse it back to health

Rare species turtle found in Voltri

A sea turtle was found by a fisherman in the town of Voltri, Italy. The 70kg Caretta carreta turtle species is a rare one and as such these sea creatures are protected by the convenzione di Washington CITES.

This particular turtle is in critical health, perhaps from having swallowed something foreign to its diet. Thus, it has been transferred to the "Acquario di Genova" where it can recover.
