Le Quellec, 28, received an overwhelming 76 per cent of the vote in the final on Tuesday evening, as her seasonal three course meal wowed the judges and guests, who ultimately voted for her. In her menu, it was her dessert that paid hommage to her home region of the Var: a surprising creation of olive oil ice cream with crushed raspberries.

"This experience has been very intense and has made me constantly to push my boundaries. I have tried to do my best right up to the end and I am very happy to have won, " she said.

Le Quellec will now return to the Four Seasons Resort, where she has worked since 2006 and will serve up her own menu at the Le Faventina restaurant from the 14th April.
