Nice fails culture test

The city of Nice was not chosen to go forward to the shortlist for the European Culture Capital in 2013. The Paris based jury announced yesterday that it did not select the Côte d’Azur capital, despite extensive arguments and cultural proposals by Mayor Jacques Peyrat and his team earlier in the week.

The four French cities short-listed are Bordeaux, Marseille, Toulouse and Lyon. The final decision will be taken in 2009.
