Arts and Culture: Rediscover the might of Mozart and Beethoven

Nice celebrates two music legends

The lives of the pianists Brigitte Engerer and Jacques Taddéi will be celebrated in an evening of classical chamber music in the stunning surroundings of the Monastery of Cimiez in Nice on 26 July.

The concert, organised by the City of Nice and presented by Mayor Christian Estrosi, will be a fitting remembrance for the two musicians who died in June 2011, after having devoted their lives to their art. Taddéi, one of the most celebrated musicians of Nice, was highly respected by audiences and musicians from around the world. Engerer, born in Tunisia in 1952, was a pianist whose natural ability gained her a place at the Moscow Conservatory of Music at the age of 17. The stars of the Regional Orchestra of Cannes will pay homage to these inspirational characters during performances of timeless classics from Mozart and Beethoven.

This concert is just one of many organised by the City of Nice that will be taking place during July and August. Concerts will include performances from the Philharmonic Orchestra of Nice and solo performances from music students in the Nice Conservatory Auditorium.

The concert will start at 9pm.
