Inseparable: BB and Saint-Tropez

The announcement was made with the most important person missing and those present at the Salle Louis Blanc could not help feeling a tinge of disappointed; no one had honestly expected BB to show up but still, a small part of everyone had hoped for a surprise appearance.

In the end, it was down to Saint-Tropez mayor Jean-Pierre Tuveri and curator Henry-Jean Servat, who has put the exhibition together, to elaborate on the details concerning the huge show, which opens on the 23rd of June. Saint-Tropez and Brigitte Bardot – two names that are now inseparable. “It’s not possible to have one without the other,” Tuveri told the gathered journalists. It was, in fact, 53 years ago that the blonde beauty’s love affair with the tiny coastal city began.

This summer, 800 sqm of the Espace Rendez-Vous des Lices will be dedicated to telling the icon’s life, whilst at the same time taking a fond trip down memory lane and remembering the Saint-Tropez of the 1950s and 60s. Visitors will have the opportunity to discover many photos and articles, gathered from collectors all over the world, that have never been exhibited publicly before.

The expo's collection has already had one outing, in Boulogne-Billancourt, and after Saint-Tropez it will go on tour, to New York and other major cities around the world
