Arts & Culture: The Grimaldi Forum launches its new extra large exhibition
I’ll have mine extra large
The iconic art museum is bringing 50 of its biggest and most extraordinary pieces down to the Principality and installing them in the Grimaldi Forum's huge exhibition space for a whole season.
The exhibition is a journey through contemporary art's most famous names with the likes of Joan Miró, Frank Stella and Sam Francis featuring in the ‘Extra Large’ collection.
Open from 13th July until 9th September, many of the contemporary art pieces on show are recent purchases of the Centre Pompidou - which is home to a staggering 70,000 works - and have never been seen in Europe, until now.
Meet the artists
Visitors can get up close and personal with the artists behind the impressive paintings, sculptures and installations as the Grimaldi Forum has set up a series of intimate meetings where art enthusiasts can meet a number of creators. Yan Pei-Ming, Franck Scurtim, Alain Sechas and Claude Viallat will all be visiting the Principality on 13th, 14th, 15th and 21st July respectively.
Tickets are 12 euros, with a reduced rate for students, the elderly and groups. Under 18s get in free.
