Event: Chambre Régionale d'Agriculture puts together a special tour to discover Provence’s famous wine heritage

Sweetheart of the French wine route

From Nice to Aix, the vineyards across the sunny slopes of the Provence region provide legendary vintages from Bellet through to Côtes de Provence and Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence.

Extending across 3,140,000 hectares, Provence produces half the rosés made in France and is rightly famous for its vast vineyards and beautiful scenery.

A trip through the heart of wine-producing areas therefore offers an ideal opportunity to discover the region.

In partnership with the Conseil Interprofessionnel des Vins de Provence, PACA’s regional chamber of agriculture (Chambre Régionale d'Agriculture PACA) is organising a special tour of the main wine towns in Provence, starting 27th of June until the 30th of June.

Called “Route des Vins de Provence” it takes in some 300 farms and wine cellars whose owners will be providing information on the all-important terroir (soil), grapes and techniques used to make the dry, fruity rosés so typical of this region.

They really are perfect for summer drinking as an aperitif, and to accompany a salad or typical Mediterranean dish. Various wine labels will be represented, including Bandol, Cassis, Les Baux de Provence, Palette, Côtes de Provence and Coteaux Varois en Provence.

For information on how to sign up and go about the route, check out the website www.routedesvinsdeprovence.com or call 04 94 99 50 27.

The website will be opened for public use starting from the 27th of June.

This is definitely an opportunity not to miss!

Quite interested in this event. Hopefully, there'll be an opportunity to sample some of the specialities of the region during the tour.
