Provence & Côte d'Azur: The traditional celebration in the streets of Nice with flickering lights and beautiful music
Nice celebrates Saint Lucie
Crowds gathered in Place Massena under the magnificent Christmas fir tree, a present sent from Sweden to celebrate 10 years of allegiance with the city of Nice.
The traditional festival of light saw a parade of young girls dressed in white and carrying flickering candles proceed to Saint Barthélémy church where a concert was held to mark the occasion.
The festive fun continued on Sunday 11th December with a Christmas concert and torchlight parade, which began at the Gésù church in Nice old town. Visitors also enjoyed solo performances from the Stockholm Opera stars.
Join in with the Scandinavian fun this evening at 6pm for the traditional coronation of Saint Lucie in the Saint Pierre church in Haut de Cagnes.
There is also a Christmas film premiere of 'JON-face aux vents' by Corto Fajal which will be held on Tuesday 13th December at 8pm at the Variété cinema on Boulevard Victor Hugo in Nice.
