Monaco: Controversy continues to dog 170-metre Monesgasque tower
Work taking place on the Odeon towers in the Beausoleil commune, which was halted in recent days has started again. The French town’s mayor, Gerard Spinelli defiantly ordered a stop to the work in an effort to demonstrate his opposition to the towers. However, the mayor has agreed to temporarily back down on the advice of experts over safety concerns on the site. Read more …

Monaco: Beausoleil mayor halts tower work upon release from prison ($)
The beginning of this month in Monaco saw the first foundations laid for the controversial towers, the Odeon. After long months of tortuous negotiations and discord, work on the 370 million Euro contract had finally begun. It seemed that we would hear no more until its inauguration in the summer of 2014.
