Chapelle de la Miséricorde

You’d be forgiven for walking past the small ochre yellow chapel of the Miséricorde in the Cours Saleya in Nice’s old town. It is rarely open. It belongs to the Confrérie des Pénitents Noirs, a brotherhood created in Nice in 1329 following a cholera epidemic. It is the undisputed jewel in Nice’s baroque crown.Read more …
