It may be a Monday night and start of the working week but usually nothing stands in the way of the “Fête de la Musique” when the nation celebrates our love of music. However after the traumas of last week’s devastating floods, many events have been cancelled in Var towns (for example La Valette and La Garde) out of respect for those who perished. And while the department’s capital Toulon is continuing with a full programme of events, the city council is not officially taking part, and collection boxes will be out in force to raise funds for those worst affected by the deluge.
