Events: Principality gets ready for its Oktoberfest

Munich comes to Monaco

If you are someone who travels north to Munich each year for the "fifth season", it’s time to stop and take a look a little closer to home. This year, after a break in 2008, the Principality will be holding its own Oktoberfest with genuine Weihenstephaner beer from the oldest brewery in the world.

HSH Prince Albert II, with friends Charlene Wittstock and Rebecca Arcaini, gets into the spirit at the last Monoco Oktoberfest in 2007

The German cook Bruno Henrich will be preparing, together with his Monegasque collegue Jacques Lambert, Bavarian specialities like Weisswurst (traditional sausages). And afterwards you can party the night away to German band Echt Guat .

“It was the wish of Prince Albert, that we organised, together with the SBM, this event again”, says Mr. Tonio Arcaini, president of the TA group, who imports Weihenstephaner beer.

The festivities kick off in the Cafe de Paris today and will continue until the 25th October. Time to get drinking!
