Events: The Opéra Monte-Carlo company opens doors on Figaro rehearsals for European Opera Day

Free tickets to see opera stars in action

The lovely Belle Epoque Salle Garnier opera house attached to the Casino in Monte-Carlo will be throwing its doors open to the public on Saturday 13th February to give the public a unique opportunity.

The initiative is to celebrate European Opera Day and on offer are free tickets to watch rehearsals of Le Nozze di Figaro (Marriage of Figaro) in the lead up to the gala night next Friday, and a concert by the Opéra de Monte-Carlo choir. Figaro stars David Bizic as the eponymous hero, Ketevan Kemoklidze as the malign Cherubino, and Marc Barrard and Virginia Tola as the Count and Countess Almaviva.

On the programme of free tickets:

2.30 pm to 5.30pm – Figaro rehearsal

6pm – concert by the Opéra de Monte-Carlo choir featuring works by Mozart and his contemporaries

8pm to 11pm – Figaro rehearsal

The free tickets are available from the ticket office located in the hall of the Casino from 10am t 5.30pm. http://www.opera.mc
